ADR Experience And Training  Has served in approximately 200 cases as a Mediator and in about 100 as an Arbitrator. Many of these cases involved complex factual and legal issues, including antitrust; constitutional claims; pension and retirement benefits; insurance claims; compensation claims under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act; banking; interconnection agreements in the telecommunication industry; the cellular telephone industry; patent and trademark licensing; the radio and television broadcasting industries; satellite broadcasting; international transactions; foreign state sovereign immunity; FOIA requests; medical malpractice; health care; professional ethics; and deceptive and unfair trade practices. Frequently appointed as mediator by the US District Court and the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the District of Columbia Superior Court. Completed more than 90 hours of basic and advanced mediation training and more than 60 hours of basic and advanced arbitration training. Commercial arbitrator and mediator for the American Arbitration Association and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution. Arbitrator for the International Chamber of Commerce, the NASD and the New York Stock Exchange.

Primary Practice Areas  Antitrust, federal regulatory and administrative law, business torts, contract disputes and alternative Dispute resolution. As Senior Counsel to DC Corporation Counsel, served as mediation/settlement counsel in complex litigation involving multi-million dollar claims against the City and its agencies. Private practice has included matters Involving United States and foreign regulatory statutes and agencies, including the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Federal Maritime Commission, the European Commission and other foreign competition law authorities. Has represented corporate clients and trade associations in various industries, including aluminum; automobiles and auto part manufacture and distribution; banking; chemicals; credit cards; grocery supermarkets; health care; milk cooperatives; motion picture production, distribution, and exhibition; natural gas pipelines; ocean shipping; oil tanker operations; pulp and paper board; plastic packaging; pharmaceuticals; records; retailing; telecommunications; television and Radio network broadcasting. Has served as lead trial counsel in administrative agency proceedings and court litigation, including civil jury and non-jury trials, and criminal proceedings.
